Discover waterfalls, colonial gems and hike in the heart of Guadeloupe's national park. A beautiful little-known beach is Plage Ti Anse. The beautiful Cascade d'Écrevisse waterfall is located on the Route de la Traversée. However, our tip - in good, dry weather - is the turquoise-blue Cascade d'Acomat. The drive along the national road with its hairpin bends, bathing bays and flowering gardens is an experience. Enjoy a café at the Semana Beauséjour or relax in between at the Place des Victoires with a view of the official residence of the commissioner of the Death in Paradise series.
Visit the filming locations in Pointe-Noire with us. The highlight is certainly the Place des Victoires with the police headquarters and the seat of Commissioner Selwyn Patterson. DI Mooney made important decisions there and
the best sergeant of the Sainte Marie Police wrote his exam there. The Sainte Marie Bank is also located there. The Baille Argent harbor is the meeting place of Florence Casell and Patrice Campbell in its restaurant. The Habitation Samana Beauséjour was the filming location for two episodes. There were wild chases in the streets of Pointe Noire. We follow them (slowly). Camille Bordey met her father here when he rented a motorcycle. A spectacular murder took place in the Guadeloupe Zoo and the inspectors had to convict the perpetrators in one or two villas.
For safety reasons, this hike is only possible in good weather and on dry paths. Do not jump from the rocks. After a short walk, you will reach perhaps the most beautiful waterfall in Guadeloupe. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Pick nick at the waterfall.
The bridge at the exit from Pointe Noire to Basse Terre was not designed by Eiffel, but was built in 1935. However, it is characteristic of the colonial (iron) building style. We then visit the coffee and cocoa museum and take a look at a crab farm (oussous). At the end
we taste these crabs over a cozy dinner and a fruity planteur on a property with a great view of the Plage de Grande Anse beach in Deshaies.
